Debra (Deb) is a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother that needs your help. She has lived a life built around kindness, giving back, and putting others needs in front of her own. From raising her 2 children, building a business from the ground up and caring for her elderly parents she has been selfless with her time and commitment to others.
In March of 2012 Deb was diagnosed with non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis. As the disease has progressed, Debra’s quality of life has greatly diminished and she is no longer able to do many of the things she once loved. In March of 2012 Deb was diagnosed with non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis. As the disease has progressed, Debra’s quality of life has greatly diminished and she is no longer able to do many of the things she once loved. For her family, this has been especially difficult to watch as she has lived a clean healthy life. As a family we have moved past the “this isn’t fair” or “she doesn’t deserve this” stage (albeit we all still feel it), and are focused on trying to help Deb find a live liver donor who can grant the people that love and need her the most more time with her.
This is no small ask…. But Deb needs a liver and we are looking to identify a match that can provide this life saving measure. The procedure would be conducted at New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) in New York, New York. NYP is one of the largest and most successful liver transplant centers in North America.
If there is interest, please

Debra (Deb) Sarazin is loved by so many, a testament to her sense of family, community, and generosity. If you have the good fortune of knowing Deb, you know the kind of warm and loving woman she is.
If you asked her what she is most proud of in her life, she would tell you about her family. Deb and her husband Paul have been married for over 40 years and are entering their golden years together. They raised two children and are very active in the lives of their grandchildren, never missing a significant milestone or the opportunity to spoil them with praise, love, and the occasional homemade treat.
Deb has served as the President of Sarazin General Contractors, a company she and her husband built together over the past 35+ years. Deb has made it a priority to give back and help empower other women in the industry.
While her professional accomplishments speak for themselves, Deb is best defined by her ability to find any excuse to bring family and friends together to celebrate over a perfectly prepared home cooked meal and variety of baked desserts. Sharing a holiday meal is Deb’s love made visible, and she demonstrated this time and time again hosting family, friends, family of friends, friends of friends, or anyone who just needed a place to be. There is not an individual she wouldn’t go out of her way to help or welcome into her home.
Deb is just entering retirement, in years prior she spent many of them selflessly being the primary caregiver for her parents while taking them into her home and ensuring they were as comfortable as could be, often to the detriment of her own health. An amazing wife, business professional, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Deb has so much more to experience in good health with her family doing the things she loves like kayaking, biking, spending time at the beach, and cooking with her grandchildren.
In March of 2012 during a relatively routine procedure, her surgeon discovered that her liver was cirrhotic. Deb was later diagnosed with non-alcoholic liver-cirrhosis. Over the past 12 years, she has had numerous procedures to keep her as healthy as possible. Doctors have indicated that we are at the end of the line and her only hope for recovery is a liver transplant. Time is of the essence; the disease has negatively impacted her and the quality of life she has worked so hard for.
Given the urgency, the Sarazin family is exhausting all options including a live donor. This is our time to give back to Deb everything she has given all of us. If you or anyone you know would be willing to grant this life saving miracle to Debra by being a live liver donor, please reach out to givelifetodebra@gmail.com or please visit http://www.nyp.org/livingdonorliver
